LGMA Queensland offers a range of different professional development opportunities to suit the needs of its members.  These include conference and workshop-style events which offer a range of topics and workshops on current issues and trends, generally presented in a larger group setting such as: the Annual Conference, Future Leaders Forum, CEO Forums, Branch Conferences, Indigenous Council CEO Forum and topical seminars or workshops.

Annual Conference

The 2016 LGMA Queensland Annual Conference was held in Port Douglas on 6 - 8 September 2016. The conference programme is available here.

Future Leaders Forum

The Future Leaders Forum is a two day event, providing informative and interactive forums for officers looking to further their career in local government. The event provides valuable networking opportunities with some of Queensland's brightest talents. 

The 2017 Future Leaders Forum will be held in Cairns on 18-19 May. A great line up of fantastic speakers promises to make this event one not to miss! 

The 2016 Future Leaders Forum was held in Brisbane on 12-13 May. This 2 day programme was the highlight of the year for many who attended. 


The Villages are networks which have been developed to connect officers across the state who are undertaking similar roles.  Each Village offers tailored events, a repository for the sharing of documents and templates, an online Forum for discussion and a list of contacts across Queensland councils.
