LGMA QUEENSLAND ANNUAL CONFERENCE
Each year, LGMA Queensland holds an Annual Conference with the purpose of providing a forum for accomplished and skilled individuals in local government, to share their knowledge, experience and ideas.
Each year, our conference attracts over 340 delegates, sponsors, speakers and partners including CEOs, senior and middle managers and a select number of elected members. The program is tailored to meet the needs of our local government professionals and includes keynote presentations, panel sessions, workshops and several evening networking events.
This year's Annual Conference was held on the 6-9 October 2009 on the Gold Coast and the conference theme was “Brave New World”. New council structures, new legislation and new community expectations have all combined to create a pioneer environment for officers and legislators alike. Courageous and innovative leadership will be required to weather the changes ahead and to engage the commitment of communities and staff to the brave new world that is Queensland local government in 2009 and beyond.
It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent,
but the one most responsive to change.
