This interactive, 2-day forum will simulate the role of a local government CEO who is starting in a new council. Focussing on the must do’s in the critical first 100 days in the job, you will explore the broad range of local government activity and where priority might need to be placed.
Working with the speakers and other participants, you will discuss:
• What are the things you need to know about how councils operate;
• Where should you put your early focus;
• How do you engage support from elected members; and
• What do you need to do to start the culture off on the right footing?
Hear from CEOs and other technical specialists about what they would recommend and what they have experienced. This Forum will broaden your understanding of Queensland local government, the scope and breadth of activity, the responsibilities of CEOs and how to balance the varied needs of stakeholders: above, below and external.
