Governance Village

This Village aims to support local government professionals who have responsibility for the governance and corporate functions of Queensland councils. 

The exchange ensures officers keep abreast of the ever-changing legislative environment, have access to best practice policies and approaches and can hear from directly the legislators, whether it is the Department of LG, OIC, DLG, Ombudsman, QAO, OIA or other agencies, about requirements impacting council policies and governance/corporate best practice.   It is a place to get together, share information, get updates on the latest legislation, policies, risk management, internal audit, operational planning/reporting and, ultimately, help improve governance across our organisations.
