Rates Village Exchange

This village exchange meeting is for local government employees working in the Rates area of Queensland councils. It is a place to get together, share information, get updates on the latest legislation and policies, and ultimately help each other improve our ways of working and serving our communities.

Scheduled exchange session for 2022:

Cost: Complimentary to Council Subscribers

Agenda: 

• How are Pensioner Rebates and Remission administration handled?

•  What information is on Rates Search, and how do you handle differences in pro-rata payback between Council and solicitors calculations?

  For the Councils that have a category for Non-owner occupier residents:

  • Property Searches: Is there anything specific on their property searches in regards to the potential purchasers ?  I.e.: after purchasing, is their intention to live in the dwelling
  • Property Transfers: Is there anything specific that was changed during this process which would make things easier to analyse; and if so, do you process automated property transfers ?
  • Also, Intention to Sell (ITS) – how often does your Council process these?  Once or twice yearly ?
