YOUNG MANAGER OF THE YEAR AWARD FOR LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT EXCELLENCE

As part of LGMA's commitment to developing the next generation of leaders in local government, the Young Manager of the Year Award for Leadership and Management Excellence is awarded annually. The Award acknowledges and encourages leadership and management excellence and is presented to a young local government employee who has made an outstanding contribution to the positive growth of their council and community.

The Award is open to Managers aged 35 years or younger, who are employed by a Queensland local government and are a LGMA member (if not already an LGMA member now, you may join to be eligible for Nomination).

2023 YOUNG MANAGER OF THE YEAR

Congratulations to Madison Marshall from Burke Shire Council who is our 2023 Young Manager of the Year. Madison was recognised for her innovative thinking and her focus on continuous improvement. Read more about why Madison was nominated here.

2021 YOUNG MANAGER OF THE YEAR

Congratulations to Rebecah Brosnan of Central Highlands Regional Council.  Rebecah was recognised for her dedication to customer service, leadership, communication and staff engagement.  Well done!  Brett de Chastel, LGMA Queensland President announced Rebecah as the 2021 Young Manager of the Year at the LGMA Queensland Awards for Excellence Gala on 27 May.

2019 YOUNG MANAGER OF THE YEAR AWARD Winner

Patrick Day from MacDonnell’s Law presented a somewhat shocked and thrilled Teona Cousin of Mackay Regional Council with the 2019 LGMA Queensland's Young Manager of the Year Award at the LGMA Local Government Conference President’s Welcome at The Ville Resort Casino in Townsville, on 10 September.

Teona was recognised for her significant contribution, driving change and innovation in areas of Economic Development.


The Young Manager of the Year Award was proudly sponsored by MacDonnell’s Law. The recipient receives $1,500 towards professional development.
