LGMA is a member of the national body, Local Government Professionals Australia and, as an LGMA member, you also gain access to this highly regarded network of professionals across the country. | Member EligibilityLGMA membership is held by eligible individuals. To be eligible to join, you must be currently employed by a local government in an officer role (LGMA does not offer services supporting elected members). Officers who have line responsibility for other officers (i.e. directors, managers, coordinators, supervisors etc.) are eligible for full membership while those who do not yet manage others are eligible for Affiliate membership. LGMA membership subscription is issued on a financial year basis and is tax deductible. Membership fees for the 2022/2023 year are:

As a member of each of the associations for Local Government Professionals/Managers across Australia, if you move between states, you can elect to transfer your membership and have continue your membership tenure. Contact the association in the destination State and advise that you wish to transfer your membership. Provided that there is no outstanding membership fee, your membership will be transferred with no additional cost for the remaining financial year. You will then renew per usual with the destination state. In the event that your membership subscription is outstanding, you will be invoiced for membership on transfer. Please note, fees and entitlements do differ between states but the support you receive and value of membership is consistent across all.
