Village Executive Committee Opportunities

The LGMA Village Exchanges provide Queensland local government professionals working in similar fields with the opportunity to come together to network and share experiences.  These events are a fantastic opportunity to learn from each other, network, discuss best practice and talk about changes and the latest developments in your role specific area of local government.

For each of the Village Exchanges, LGMA is seeking 1-2 council officers who can assist with building the network of participating officers but, most of all, drive the ever-important conversations and Exchange agendas.  Using your expertise in the field, you can suggest topics and speakers and help lead the conversation to maximise the benefit for all participants.

The commitment required to fulfill this position for a 12-month period is listed below.

    • Facilitate our exchanges in partnership with us. You will lead the discussion during each exchange, while LGMA will manage registrations, reminders and session notes.
    • Research and prepare relevant and topical agenda items for discussion. Arrange presentations or guest speakers that add value to each session.
    • Promote exchange sessions across your council and professional network to support strong attendance and engagement.
    • Be available for all exchange sessions scheduled for the year. Join at least 10 minutes prior to the start time to get prepare and discuss any last-minute additions.
    • Contribute to the LinkedIn Group on a regular basis. LGMA post periodically and ask that you engage with these posts and engage with other members. We would also love if you shared your own posts or articles you’ve read that you may find relevant.
