    • First time restrictions have really impacted.
    • Been busy with Art Gallery change over
    • Hours have now changed back to MON-FRI 9am-5pm. Still no saturdays
    • Childrens Services will return to 4 sessions after Easter.  Still using round circles but distance is meaning limited interaction with presenters.
    • Full School holiday programme going ahead. Capping numbers
    • Checkin QLD App being used.  No consistency in QR codes across cafe, library and cultural centre meaning people have to check in more than once.
    • New 'Covid Policy' introduced on Tuesday this week.  Gives guidelines and structure to decision  making and processes.

    Ipswich

    • Staying closed until TUES 6 April
    • Big focus on opening of the Children's library.  All running to schedule.
    • Thank you to LGMA for creating this network.  Valuable to establish contacts to bounce ideas off.
    • Hazard management included in BCP

    Tablelands

    • Susan new to Libraries (new to the group) from Tourism and ED, strategy background
    • Working on an efficiencies project.  Currently 7 libraries and one of these has only approx 8 people visiting per week (open only 2 days).  Looking at what it would mean to reduce to 4 venues?  Looking at 24hr access - costs?
    • E-resources usage increased over Covid but back to pre-covid levels

    Redland - Capalaba & Cleveland

    • Using Qld checkin App which is way easier than the previous form.  Have staff stationed at the front door to assist
    • Will reopen Tuesday
    • Finding that mask wearing calms the customer and alleviates complacency
    • Have a 'Hazard Management Plan' that libraries created and own and sent to Council for approval.  Gets approval quicker than waiting for something like this to happen in reverse.

    Brisbane

    • Lockdown ending at 12pm and directive to open libraries at 12-1pm today.  Need to return staff currently on paid stand down
    • handing out masks at entry
    • New library services manager - Nina Scape.  Comes to libraries with lots of LG experience
    • Concierges have been hired to assist at entry checking QR codes and sign ins.  Still using EVA check in App
    • decisions on school holiday programmes and 'quarantining requirements' being decided at todays meeting.

    General discussion

    • When running school holiday programmes parents and facilitators must wear masks.  Is there a need to sanitise items?   Are all programmes suitable - when some have high touch points?
    • Cafe spaces - have different rules to libraries and no consistency.
    • Hoping to avoid going back to 'quarantining' and cleaning books process.  Not consistent across Councils on expectations of this process
    • Separating out 'What is Customer Service' and what is ' Occupational Violence' and guidelines for staff to manage both.
    • Tactical response when being filmed without consent - ' I don't give permission to be filmed and I'll continue this conversation after you stop filming'..  Help to stop things escalating and getting caught on camera.
    • Doorbells to call for support
    • Tracking bad customer behaviour to report any trends
    • Libraries Village Study Bus Tour - proposed date 29 July to include facilities in BCC, Ipswich and Redlands.  More details (including costs) to come in the following weeks....

THANK YOU ALL FOR ATTENDING AND SHARING .... Cass x
