What is the Australasian Management Challenge?

The Australasian Management Challenge is an innovative development opportunity that is a convergence of ideas, energy, academic rigour and practical application – the elements which develop great leadership.

This programme is the premier forum for current and emerging local government leaders. It is a sophisticated development programme designed to deliver personal, team and organisational professional development.

The challenge has been running across Australia and New Zealand for more than 20 years. It is good fun, great value and a hands-on approach to leadership development that translates into relevant, tangible and enduring benefits for people, teams and organisations.

Everyone who participates in the Challenge – from experienced managers to emerging leaders, comes away with new and practical insights into excellence in leadership and management.

Key dates for the 2020 Management Challenge are:
•    Registrations close 14 February 2020
•    Pre Challenge Task released 17 February 2020
•    Pre Challenge Task due 30 March 2020
•    Queensland Teams will be allocated to either Wednesday, 6 May or Thursday, 7 May 2020

Queensland Winners will be announced at the LGMA Queensland Awards for Excellence Gala Dinner in Brisbane on Thursday, 28 May 2020!

Australasian Final
The best performing team in each region go on to compete in the Australasian Final which will be held in conjunction with the Local Government Professionals Australia National Congress, and the Winner of the Australasian Final will be announced at the National Congress Gala Awards Dinner (Details to be confirmed).

Local Government Professionals Australia will provide teams with an allowance to meet the average costs of return economy air travel to the National Final (conditions apply).  Participants will also receive complimentary Event Entry and complimentary congress registration including attendance to the Awards Gala Awards Dinner.

Teams will be required to cover their own accommodation expenses. Information relating to accommodation including location and costs will be made available prior to the Australasian final.
