Village Exchange Child Safe Standards 

With the commencement of the Child Safe Organisations Act 2024 on the 1st October 2025, local government needs to ensure it is implementing the child safe standards.  This special Village Exchange is specifically for local government officers to assist in this work by sharing information, getting comfortable with the requirements and ways of becoming a child safe entity.

The Queensland Family and Child Commission will be attending to answer any questions and go through resources that are available.

It will be a roundtable session with an overview of expectations for implementation, moving into a discussion or SWOT analysis allowing people to present what’s working well and where the challenges are – this allows for a demonstration of the actions people have taken.  This may assist council formulate their action plans.
